Born in Florida, I lived there for half my life. I grew up on a farm riding and showing horses, raising chickens, Climbing orange trees, exploring the creek behind my house, fishing, having mud fights, and playing on the local beaches of New Smyrna. I’ll cherish these memories for a lifetime. Memories that helped shape me into the artist I am today.
Around the age of ten, my family and I moved to Pennsylvania. At the time, it wasn’t easy moving a thousand miles away from everything I’ve ever known, to an unfamiliar place with bipolar weather. A few months after moving, my parents decided to split up. I began to live with my mother in Ford City and I would spend the weekends in Natrona Heights with my father.
Around age thirteen, I began to struggle with depression. It was then, in my darkest days, I found my love for art. Art was an outlet for me to express how I was feeling. Most of what I was creating was in black ink and graphite. Reflecting my inner demons into my art, most of what I drew was a little dark and morbid.
When I was sixteen, I moved in with my father in Natrona Heights. I would begin the eleventh grade at Highlands High School. I scheduled every art class I possibly could take. My favorite class was glass class. This class taught me how to cut, grind, and fuse glass in a kiln. We also went on multiple field trips to the Pittsburgh Glass Center, to learn the fundamentals of glass blowing. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I wanted to work with glass.
About two years after graduating high school, I was able to land a job at a local stained glass studio. I worked there for about a year learning the ins and outs of stained glass. When covid-19 hit I stopped working there. With the help of my family I was able to save up enough money to buy all my own equipment to set up a small shop at my home. Finding inspirations through my adventures in nature, my family, and my friends I started to really immerse myself into my artwork.
